The @noma.ious bed consists of 3-5 em of red shale (clayish shale) sandwiched between limestone and marl beds. The floor of the red shale yields lcriodusiowaensis (of its upper horizon) and Icriodus cornurus. The horizon of the anomaly bed is at the upper part of the crepida Zone.
